I’m sure you all remember little Autzen and his amazing blue eyes! I was thrilled when his mama came to be about doing another session, and was even more excited when I found he’d warmed up to me since our last session in June! I didn’t have to use my paparazzi lens at all this time! The little guy just kept shouting that he was, “ready for an adventure!” Too cute.
We had wonderful lighting and beautiful property to work with, not to mention an adorable kid, so it made my job extra easy! Enjoy!

Back in September I donated a photo shoot to Earth Monkey’s silent auction which was set up to raise money for the McPhails - a family from my hometown who were being featured on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition. My entire family and many of my friends were able to sign up to actually work on building their house, but I had a prior engagement that kept me from going. Instead I was able to donate the photo shoot.
A co-worker and friend of my mother’s, Ashley, won the final bid by $1! We had a great time at Lithia Park in Ashland with gorgeous weather and an even more amazing family. Thank you, Ashley, for placing the bid and helping raise money for another great family, and for being so patient waiting for these photos! I had a blast! Enjoy. :)

PPS - Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy 4th everyone! I’ve got a few moments at home between work and play so I thought I’d share Autzen’s session. Autzen’s mommy works with me at the credit union and I’ve been seeing photos of her adorable son in her cubicle for over a year. I’m so happy I got the opportunity to take photos of my own of this little man.
Have a safe 4th and enjoy!

I work with Tammy, the twin’s mom, at the credit union. Back in March I met Adam and Samantha at their 3rd birthday party. Adam warmed up to me just fine but Samantha was pretty shy and uninterested in the whole photo thing. I was thrilled when we met up at Hendrick’s Park in Eugene last weekend when Samantha ran right up to me and chatted with me all day.
If you’re wondering about the blog title, Prince Puckler’s is an icecream shop in Eugene and the twins’ parent’s and I used some good old fashion bribery to keep them on task during the shoot. No shame in that. :)
These two have the best little personalities and couldn’t be any cuter! I had a blast!

A few weeks back I met up with Brady and his aunt Kaylee for a session in Bear Creek Park in Medford. This little man smiled his way through his entire session! Thanks for being so cute Brady, and for making my job easy! :)
Enjoy the cuteness!

When I was asked to shoot Adam and Samantha’s 3rd birthday party I was thrilled! 2 hours in a gym with tons of kids? Yes please! And the birthday boy and girl are just so cute!
I started photography by taking pictures of the kids I babysat back when I was 15 years old, and I don’t get the opportunity to do it as often anymore. Saturday afternoon proved to me that I still love it. Kids are just so full of expressions and emotions!
My job during this party wasn’t really to interact with the kids too much, but to follow them around while they played and had a great time. This is the best way to photograph kids, in my opinion. You’ll end up with real photos that portray your kids as they really are. :)
Meet Adam:

Adam warmed up to me and my camera right away. This photo was snapped about 30 seconds after we met while he told me about the big train he had just seen.
Meet Samantha:

Samantha was a little more shy and wasn’t a huge fan of having her photo taken. The above photo was shot at the end of the party when she was starting to get used to having me and my big camera around. :)
And here are the rest of the photos from the party. Enjoy!

An older photo I found from one of my first paid photo sessions:

Could she be any cuter??
This shoot was done this weekend down in my hometown of Medford, OR. It was a lot of fun! The kids were up for some really fun poses that often including climbing! Kyle is almost 14 and Kelsey is 16; I was so impressed with how much they got into the photo shoot. I was also impressed by how helpful Kyle was, always lending a hand to help his sister or mom out of a tree or over a stream. What a great family to work with. :)
Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot, he full session can be seen on my Y11 facebook page.

Meet Aidan. :)
This session was done today in Alton Baker Park, Eugene, OR.

Here’s my entry for this week’s I ♥ Faces contest. The image is titled “Snuggly”.

I couldn’t resist this week’s Fix it Friday from I ♥ Faces! This little guy just looks so cute! :) I used Adobe Photoshop CS2 and Paint Shop Pro 7 - yes, I’m old school.
Here’s the original:

Here’s my first edit, this was supposed to just look very natural:

On this photo I really just edited the levels so it wasn’t so dark, then boosted some of the colors.
Here’s my second edit:

For this second rendition, I adjusted the curves to give the photo a slightly aged look. I just recently learned this trick and have been using it quite a bit. It’s merely a stylistic choice. Next, I worked with the levels to lighten it up; I chose to go really light on this one because I didn’t want to lose his face in shadow and I liked the pallid colors - they seemed to compliment his melancholy expression. The little shadows on his chin were quite pixelated so I smoothed those out and just added some sharpness to his eyes to make them pop!
=)
Just the kiddos. :)
The photo editing is taking me way longer than I anticipated… I feel bad that I’m taking so long! Better to be thorough than to be quick, I suppose. Anyway, I’m happy with these photos! I tried a new photo editing technique on them.
